Most of the components are on one PC board, eliminating all wires
between the PC boards, pots, regulators and switches. Makes assembly
easier and faster, eliminates errors. Kits require a minimum of
construction and are fast and easy to assemble. The PC board that
is shown below comes fully assembled and tested. Where lab time
is eliminated SEMI kit is time and cost effective.

- 28132: Boe-Bot Full Kit
The
Boe-Bot is the most popular Parallax robotic kit. A Boe-Bot consists
of our popular Board of Education (BOE) mounted on the high-quality
aluminum chassis. I/O projects are temporarily built on the front
of the BOE. The Boe-Bot chassis has mounting holes and slots so
you can add your own projects with screws, nuts and standoffs.
The strength of this kit is also the 200-page educational Robotics!text.
Chassis is brushed aluminum.
AUDIENCE:
Educational and experimental.
POWER
SUPPLY: Four AA 's for BASIC Stamp and motor control.
TIME
REQUIRED TO BUILD AND PROGRAM: 2 hours. Robotics! text includes
many pre-written PBASIC programs that may be customized.
I
/O COMPONENTS: LEDs, speaker, pushbutton, photoresistors, resistors
and capacitors, infrared LEDs and receivers, and full whisker
kit.
USE
OF BASIC STAMP I /O PINS: Components are placed on the breadboard
and may be moved around. Flexible use of I /O pins.
OBJECT
DETECTION: Infrared object detection and whiskers.
EXPANDABILITY:
Breadboard or through-hole AppMod mounts on center AppMod header.
PACKAGE
CONTENTS: BASIC Stamp 2 module,Boe-Bot kit,software, serial cable,Robotics!text
with projects, and BASIC Stamp Manual Version 2.0.

- 28152: What's a Microcontroller? - Parts and Text
What
's a Microcontroller? is our most introductory and popular BASIC
Stamp tutorial for education by introducing the essentials of
writing and downloading a simple program for pushbuttons, LEDs,and
a motor. This text is an ideal starting point for high- school
age students, but also serves as a quick-read background reference
for higher levels. Projects are shown in pictorial and schematic
format. The first chapters cover use of the BASIC Stamp software,bread-
boarding projects with LEDs and buttons. Advanced projects show
how to interface a manual and digital potentiometer, how to use
a photoresistor to activate servo movement (simulating a grocery
store door). The text was written by Matt Gilliland of I-Four
in Grass Valley,California (author of the Microcontroller Application
Cookbook). The 127-page tutorial is available for purchase or
download, and it may be duplicated for use in an educational environment.
The
What 's a Microcontroller?Parts Kit includes all components necessary
for the experiments: · Active components: DS1804 digital
potentiometer,555 timer · Passive: LEDs, resistors (470 ohm,1K
10K,15K),capacitors (10 µF,1 µF,3300 µF), pushbuttons,100K
potentiometer · Miscellaneous: DC hobby servo motor, wires

- 28156: Industrial Control Parts & Text
Industrial
Control is a 198-page educational tutorial on process control
with the BASIC Stamp. Industrial Control was written by Marty
Hebel and Will Devenport, two electronics instructors from Southern
Illinois University. Methods of process control (on-off,differential
gap,proportional-integral-derivative) are demonstrated in detail
using a simple desktop heater system consisting of a film canister
with a temperature sensor and a heater. Heating drive is altered
to demonstrate each concept. A fan provides an external disturbance
to the closed-loop system. The use of high-voltage electricity
to achieve the same concepts is also explained using solid-state
relays. To demonstrate the dynamic nature of process control you
'll use our free StampPlot Lite!StampPlot is a handy datalogging
and graphic utility for the experiment.
The
Industrial Control Parts Kit includes the following:
· Active components: ADC0831 A/D converter,LM358 op-amp,
transistors,infrared LEDs and phototransistor,switches
· Passive: LEDs (green,red,yellow),resistors (220,470,1K,10K
ohm),capacitors (1,10 µF 16V),potentiometers (10K multi-turn
pots)
· Miscellaneous: fan, two-hole drilled film canister
